Mineral Processing
Descriptions
Our technology involves activation of potassium-rich silicate minerals followed by treatment with other naturally-abundant additives to recover soluble potash. Froth flotation is used to recover a co-product from the residue.
Use Cases
Potash encompasses various potassium fertilizers essential for crop production while the byproduct is a mineral that undergoes enhanced rock weathering (ERW) process to capture CO2 and store it permanently in the soil.
Technology Development
We have advanced from lab-scale experiments to conceptual design and currently scoping the feasibility/preliminary engineering design. We are using innovative iterative scale-up approach, which combines experimental data with process modelling to identify bottlenecks early, de-risk scaling, and accelerate commercial implementation. Our copy-paste model is expected to enhance multi-local scalability using a wide range of ore grades.
